Location: Salem Hospital, 890 Oak Street SE, Salem, Oregon 97301Department: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)Position Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week, ExemptSchedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, alternating on-call weeks, 24/7 accountability, some nights/weekends Your role with usAs Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) nurse manager, you will oversee the unit that serves as a step-down from the Intensive Care and Cardiac Units, specializing in hearts, upper vascular, and borderline critical care respiratory cases. This position manages an incredibly strong and deeply engaged cohort of assistant nurse managers who, working with and through their teams, have made strides to achieve among the lowest length of stay volumes in the health system while significantly increasing patient experience scores. This unique nursing management opportunity has a wide variety of highly attractive aspects that will empower you to sharpen your clinical skills while advancing your leadership aptitude. The Society for Angiography and Interventions (SCAI-B) area of the unit cares for critically ill cardiogenic shock patients in new and innovative ways, regularly engaging in active problem solving to improve patient care. These strategies have recently increased survivability by 20% and reduced arterial and myocardial infarction (AMI) by 1.5%. As patients transition from the catheterization laboratory to the IMCU, your team is responsible for pulling sheaths, a highly desirable skill set to add to your clinical range. Your oversight umbrella will consist of four direct reports and nearly 100 employees in total, including assistant nurse managers, registered nurses, and certified nursing assistants. This high morale team features an active unit council who are avid Magnet champions and fluid charge nurses who consistently problem solve and innovate. Required qualificationsBachelor's degree in nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS). Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon, or eligibility for licensure.Minimum of three years of experience as an RN in an acute care setting. Minimum of two years of progressive people management experience. Additional informationAmerican Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Nurse Manager & Leader Certification or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Nurse Executive Certification will be required within two years of hire and must be kept valid throughout employment.
