Moog Industrial Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer.

You will be the technical support and on-site repair/diagnostic activities for a broad range of Moog products and systems. The primary focus areas are simulation control loading products however, it is expected that the FSE will be able to service additional Moog EM technologies. You will be the face of Moog and, therefore, must strive to provide customer centric support and foster improved customer relationships. This can be accomplished by demonstrating responsive field service support, customer training, issue resolution, and installation/commissioning support. You will report to the Manager, Process in East Aurora, New York.

As a Field Service Engineer you will.....

  • Interface directly with customers to analyze and solve problems with fielded products quickly and thoroughly.

  • Install, commission, and calibrate control loading systems using data acquisition software to satisfy customer/pilot requirements.

  • Interpret and diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, and computer/software related problems.

  • Work extended or unusual hours as necessary to minimize equipment downtime for customers and must be ready and willing, with little advance notice, to travel to a customer's facility.

  • Participate in extended customer technical support, beyond normal business hours.

  • Complete the necessary service reports to adequately document the nature of the call and the resulting action; documentation must show fielded product service history, including hardware and software design/redesign recommendations based on serviceability, obsolescence, and problem solving.

  • Develop detailed training materials for the training of internal employees and customer maintenance personnel.

  • Deliver professional level of instruction to those identified for training courses.

  • Perform the job with a great deal of attention toward human safety. The Field Service Engineer must be acutely aware of conditions which present significant safety risks and personnel hazards such as high voltage potentials, heavy and large moving parts, pinch points, bump hazards, etc., and take appropriate precautionary and/or remedial action when working with such equipment.

  • Maintain and improve customer relations by providing timely support via phone or e-mail and by timely completion of visit reports after on-site activities.

  • Support the Sales team with presentation materials and hardware expertise at industry trade shows

  • Provide cost estimates and technical inputs on proposals for products and services related to installation, commissioning, and repair/maintenance.

To be considered for a Field Service Engineer here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 1 year relevant work experience. Alternative requirement is a Bachelor's in applied technology degree in engineering science with three (3) years related experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Travel required up to 50% (Domestic and International)

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $75,000.00-$110,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
