The Setup Tech is responsible for setting molds and maintains plastic production and distribution of RAW & Blended materials to the Injection Presses in accordance with the schedule. Along with starting presses with the established process. Technical support and direction are provided by the Process Tech Lead.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Ability to read and understand the daily production schedule and what jobs need to be set in the Presses.
Lock-out Press to ensure safety during mold installation.
Installs molds on press, using clamps, bolts, and hand tools, and coats dies with parting agendas, according to work order
Set-up press to run production referencing the process standards
Alters thermostat to regulate temperature of molds
Performs all functions of mold changeovers, including installation of secondary and automated equipment
Responsible for starting press after completion of change with established process.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, identification, and storage of equipment related to mold setting functions including company supplied tooling, secondary equipment, including chutes, conveyors, and mold temperature controllers in their proper locations
Assist in general maintenance as necessary
Move materials to and from Machines from and to stock locations using various equipment such as pallet jack, forklift dolly, etc. as needed
Maintains inventory by properly identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies back in stock as needed
Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders as needed
Operates equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks and crane.
Clean grinders, hoppers, loaders and other equipment at mold and material changes as needed.
Use amount of regrind per the daily schedule and SAP work orders.
Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures including wearing personal safety equipment.

Mold hook-up experience: knowledge on how to properly use hydraulic lift equipment and understand lift capacities; fundamental plastic injection mold processing experience.
