Stark State College is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Director, EMS to provide comprehensive medical oversight and leadership for our EMS training programs, including Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT (AEMT), and Paramedic levels. The Medical Director ensures the quality and integrity of instruction, evaluates student competency, supports faculty development, and ensures full compliance with state and national EMS education standards. Essential Functions:
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of EMS educational programs in compliance with NREMT, ODPS EMS board, and CAAHEP accreditation standards.
- Provide direct medical oversight and instruction across didactic, clinical, simulation, and field components of EMS education.
- Assist in developing and approving course curricula, protocols, and policies based on current clinical evidence and regulatory updates.
- Oversee quality improvement initiatives related to student performance, certification outcomes, and program efficacy.
- Ensure faculty credentialing and support professional development in EMS pedagogy and clinical updates.
- Assist in maintaining accreditation documentation and fulfill reporting requirements for state and national regulatory bodies.
- Represent the EMS education program in professional forums, public engagements, and stakeholder meetings.
- Provide clinical guidance during complex student scenarios and participate in incident debriefings.
To be Considered You'll Need:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Unrestricted medical license in the state of Ohio
- Minimum three years of Emergency Medical clinical experience
