Description & Requirements The Xiao Wang group at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is seeking an energetic and motivated Research Associate III to engage with daily lab duties and collaborate within the lab and across different groups at the Broad. Our research program focuses on developing and applying state-of-the-art chemical and genomic analysis tools to chart cellular RNAs from birth to death and understand how the RNA life cycle is shaped and regulated in time and space to serve biological functions, with an emphasis on the central nervous system. In parallel, we aim to translate our understanding of RNA-centered gene regulation principles to design and engineer next-generation RNA drugs by expanding the alphabet, structure, and topology of synthetic RNAs to enhance their translation efficiency, stability, and tunability. This role will require an in-office work capacity, with the expectation to be in the office five days a week. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate across lab and administrative operations. RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
(a) animal handling, in vivo studies, stereotactic surgery; (b) pathological studies with human patient samples; (c) general tissue culture or organoid culture; (d) neuroscience research such as primary neuronal culture, optogenetics, and electrophysiology; (e) viral vector preparation, such as AAV and lentivirus; (f) synthetic and analytical approaches to chemical and molecular biology, such as nucleic acid chemistry, organic synthesis, and microscopy
