Job Title: Retail Store Clerk - Bookstore/Full-Time
Location: Downtown Portland
Work hour: 10:15am-7:15pm, 5 days a week
Classification: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Direct-Hire
A well-established bookstore is seeking a Full-Time Store Clerk who is passionate about comic books and anime. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys customer interaction and has a love for books, comics, manga, and graphic novels.
Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers with enthusiasm, especially those looking for comic books, manga, and graphic novels
Maintain an organized, clean, and visually appealing comic book section
Provide knowledgeable recommendations based on customer preferences
Assist with inventory management, including restocking, tagging, and organizing shelves
Operate the cash register and handle customer transactions accurately
Support in-store promotions and events related to comics and pop culture
Stay up to date on the latest comic book releases, authors, publishers, and trends
Perform general store duties as assigned (e.g., customer service, returns, store maintenance)
Qualifications:
Previous retail experience required, including handling merchandise and inventory
Strong interest and passion for books, comics, manga, and anime
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
Japanese bilingual skills are a plus
Basic computer and POS system skills
