The Department of Public Management and Policy has an opening for a Business Manager II position. Reporting to the department chair, this position oversees all department financial and business duties.

Key Responsibilities



  • Oversee all aspects of the department's financial and business operations. Reconciling, forecasting, managing, and reporting on all funding sources such as state, foundation, indirect, residual, agency, and sales & services department accounts.
  • Draft budgets, request budget amendments, journal requests, prior period adjustments, earning distribution changes, and cost transfer requests.
  • Maintain internal control policies and ensure compliance with university, Board of Regents (BOR), and state regulations.
  • Advise the Chair, Program Directors, and Endowed Chairs on financial, business, and administrative policies.
  • Coordinate scholarship funding and student awards.
  • Manage HR operations, personnel records, and faculty/staff recruitment and hiring.
  • Supervise two staff members: Administrative Specialist - Academic and Administrative Specialist - Administrative.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and four years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Preference will be given to those with experience in a university setting and/or with an educational background in accounting or finance.
