About the Laboratory

Will, under the direction/guidance of Dr. Richard Aplenc, assume responsibility for utilizing data from the AML Chart Abstraction cohort to answer questions pertaining to AML clinical management and support multiple on research projects. The postdoc experience will serve to extend, refine and enhance skills necessary for professional and career development, and will enable the individual to broaden his/her scientific background by acquiring new research capabilities and growing expertise in advanced epidemiologic methods.

It is expected that this individual will contribute directly to the overall research goals of the project and the research group. Post-doc will also be responsible for guiding a Masters level biostatistician in the development of analytic grade data sets and will, in close collaboration with Dr. Aplenc and Dr. Yimei Li, work with the Masters level biostatistician to perform standard analyses. In addition, candiate will perform more complex causal mediation analyses. This work will be funded by the AML research fund at and grants to be submitted.

Postdocs will be expected to participate in project planning, recording and interpretation/evaluation of data, and communication of results. Postdocs will use manuscript/grant writing skills to prepare manuscripts and abstracts for publication. They will be expected to publish scientific articles in refereed journals and present at scientific symposiums.

Postdoctoral fellows also may be required to supervise junior lab members, develop new methods and protocols for research, and assist with the development of other research projects in the lab.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project planning, recording, and evaluation of data.

  • Conduct independent scholarly research, developing new methods and protocols under the guidance of a mentor (principal investigator).

  • Acquire technical, lab management, and grant writing skills.

  • Participate in seminars, lectures, poster sessions, national presentations, and professional workshops.

  • Supervise junior lab members.

  • Assist with other research projects as needed.

Education

  • Required: Doctorate

SALARY RANGE:

$20,800.00 - $110,400.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
