A Brief Overview

A research technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Thomas De Raedt. The De Raedt lab aims to develop novel successful therapies, including cellular and immunotherapies, for children with brain tumors by dissecting the fundamental processes of tumor biology and by developing relevant mouse models. We currently are looking for an experienced research technician to assist the Dr. De Raedt and other members of the lab. The applicant will be joining the team developing a new cellular therapy for brain tumors that uses engineered migrating young neurons to bring a therapeutic payload to the brain tumor of the patient. The applicant must have experience in a research lab, and ideally have performed mouse work; mouse surgery experience is a plus. The applicant is expected to help with routine lab experiments and mouse work. Our laboratory uses a range of molecular and cellular biological techniques together with mouse models to elucidate the molecular basis of cancer. Importantly, whenever possible we extend and translate these findings and develop novel therapies that inspire clinical trials. We are located in one of the top children's hospital and university in the US and thus benefit from an excellent academic and professional environment. The successful candidate will join our growing dynamic team.
