Requisition ID req33517 Working Title Accountant 3 Position Grade 13 Position Summary The School of Law is seeking an Accountant 3 with excellent analytical and organizational skills. The qualified candidate will be a self-starter who is detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication is a must as this position will interact with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community. Accounting duties * Monthly reconciliation of unrestricted indices - recognizing, researching, and resolving issues as necessary. * Provide reports to unit managers, faculty, and law student organizations. * Assist with annual budgets, mid-year projections, categorization of reserves. * Back-up approver for CR transactions and JVs. Serve as CR Champion for the Law School. * Provide guidance to faculty, staff, and students on accounting and purchasing matters, and University policies and procedures. * Process journal vouchers and labor redistributions. * Process CR expense reimbursements and CR invoice payments. * Initiate purchasing transactions with a pcard and through Lobomart. * Prepare money lists and deposit funds. * Originate and reconcile payroll transactions. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with My Reports, Banner System, Chrome River, LoboMart, LoboWeb, Marketplace * Proficient in Excel * Knowledge of UNM policies & procedures * Communicate effectively both orally and in writing * Ability to manage several and sometimes competing priorities as well as meeting deadlines * Initiate work assignments * Ability to work independently and as part of a team Additional Requirements Campus Main - Albuquerque, NM Department School of Law (588A) Employment Type Staff Staff Type Regular - Full-Time Term End Date Status Exempt Pay Monthly: $4,236.27 - $5,950.53 Benefits Eligible This is a benefits eligible position.
