TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes both primary care and specialty physicians. The Critical Access Hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services along with 24-hour emergency services. The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Program was established to assure access to healthcare services for rural residents. The program provides rural acute care hospitals with a range of opportunities for service enhancement and quality of care improvement. Quality healthcare and patient safety is our goal. The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Wound Care Program Manager will provide over-site and direction, planning and implementation of a wound care program while coordinating the efforts of all hospital departments and other entities involved with the wound care of patients at both the outpatient clinic and inpatient acute care. This includes marketing, organizational skills, leadership, planning, implementing, evaluating and providing patient care through the use of hospital and nursing standards. This is a working position and will require direct patient care. This position will oversee the ongoing quality processes for wound care patients to assure efficiency is maintained and improved when opportunity is possible. Assumes leadership and facilitation role in relationships with physicians and staff, as well as other critical stakeholders. Provides and/or coordinate educational activities for both staff and patients. Responsible for program management, report generation and review, process improvement, and administrative activities. Provides periodic program reports to hospital leadership as requested.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

  • Current Texas nursing license or compact license.
  • Minimum of three (3) years acute Wound Care clinical experience required.
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • BSN or obtained within 2 years of hire. MSN preferred.
  • Wound care certification required within 12 months of hire.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to effectively present information and effectively respond to questions from leadership, customers and the general public in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as web-based database programs and the Internet.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive in ensuring that issues are effectively resolved in a timely manner.
  • Must consistently demonstrate professionalism, respect and courtesy.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
  • Must be able to identify and competently address the needs of the populations served.
