- Prepared pricing analysis for allocation of loans to secondary market investors.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing mortgage rate locks, including processing, extensions, and re-locks, while ensuring compliance with investor and secondary market guidelines. Monitors market conditions and uses pricing engines to support competitive loan pricing. Handles pooling and delivery of loans to investors, ensuring accurate data and timely execution. Works closely with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues, maintain system accuracy, and support efficient loan pipeline management.
Manage Rate Lock Processes and Ensure Policy Compliance
- Process rate lock requests, extensions, re-locks, and cancellations in accordance with investor and internal policies.
- Track all lock activity, maintaining detailed and accurate documentation.
- Verify all lock requests meet investor, agency, and internal guidelines.
- Manage lock extensions, renegotiations, and re-locks based on policy and market conditions.
- Monitor lock expiration dates and proactively communicate to prevent pricing penalties or expired locks.
Support Secondary Market Operations and Loan Sales
- Review daily rate sheets and monitor market fluctuations to maintain competitive and compliant pricing strategies.
- Pool and prepare loans for sale, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to investors.
- Ensure all pricing and lock data is accurately reflected in the loan origination system and pricing engine.
- Collaborate with secondary marketing, compliance, and operations teams to support pipeline and delivery strategy.
- Assist in preparing lock desk reports, including pipeline and pricing analysis.
Ensure Accuracy, Resolve Discrepancies, and Uphold Organizational Standards
- Investigate and resolve pricing or lock discrepancies with internal teams and external partners.

- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent experience
Experience
- Three+ years of experience at a Bank or Credit Union in mortgage lending is required, with a focus on secondary marketing, lock desk operations, or investor delivery. Candidates should have hands-on experience with rate lock processes, investor guidelines, and pricing tools or engines. Familiarity with loan origination systems and a solid understanding of the mortgage pipeline-from application through funding-is essential. Experience in pooling loans for sale to investors, preparing delivery data, and ensuring compliance with investor requirements is highly valuable. The role requires accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies
- The Secondary Markets Analyst has a strong understanding of mortgage products, secondary market guidelines, and interest rate lock policies. Proficiency with loan origination systems and pricing engines (e.g., Optimal Blue or equivalent) is essential. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret market data are key to success in this role. The candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance and accuracy.
