What you'll do

Support commercial related activities, e.g., deal structuring, contract drafting, review and modification for new and add-on business, pricing, review, and approval of offers, contract management, and field sales support for quotes. Assembles required resources to prepare a bid, develop proposal content, conform with Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and serve as customer liaison with stakeholder coordination. Verifies compliance with internal/external policies/regulations. Uses quoting tools and/or CRM system.


The day-to-day

  • Support all activities including, but not limited to, deal structuring, contract creation, pricing, review and approval for offers, contract management and providing support to field sales for quoting purposes
  • Ensure deals are structured and processed efficiently and align to company policies
  • Review, interpret and confirm contract terms and conditions; work closely with finance and legal teams to ensure all contracts are accurate
  • Confirm compliance with internal policies (and external regulations)
  • Responsible for drafting, modifying and finalizing contracts
  • Handle day-to-day queries from groups including, sales, sales development and account management teams
  • Provide support to sales enablement group
  • Resolve issues through research; consult with internal support teams, to identify the appropriate tools for success
  • Review and approve deals for company's customers and prospects
  • Work on and/or lead projects of diverse scope independently and present results according to predefined metrics
  • Resolves larger, complex issues in creative ways
  • May provide guidance and/or mentor junior level staff

Proposal Management

  • Put together action items and proposal requirements per the RFI or RFQ
  • Call meetings with BD, engineers & program managers to assign action items and plan of action
  • Manage and follow-up on everyone's individual efforts so that deadlines are met
  • Format proposals and when necessary, submit the proposal to the customer or the customer portal

Costing

  • Review and verify all high dollar material for large bids, and work with purchasing to update material costs
  • System costed BOMS and/or updated cost for parts and assemblies not in costing sheets
  • Proposal Tiger Teams for costing strategies
  • Final program costing analysis against the original bid sheet

Costing Sheet

  • Update costing sheet annually by running costed BOMs and working with purchasing for updated quotes
  • Update costing sheets with new published rates
  • On costing sheet team - work with individuals to get action items resolved
  • Work with planning, ops and engineering to get hours for standard programmatic and build hours

Salesforce

  • Work with the Salesforce team to determine what was needed for our team
  • Helping maintain and determine future functionality by opening problem tickets for issues found
  • Helping input opportunities for the Business Development Team
  • Enter new accounts as needed
  • Create the funnel report for the different business areas as well as any specialized reports that are requested by any BD lead
  • Run the reports and format
  • Lead training

What you'll need

  • 5+ years' experience in business development and proposal management
  • Proven track record of successfully offering to and winning high-value contracts and projects
  • Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret market, competitive and customer data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly, persuasively, and visually
  • Strong project management skills to prioritize and manage multiple proposal efforts simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet proposal deadlines for Antenna Systems
  • Bachelor's degree in a related Business field or equivalent experience
  • US Government position. US Citizenship required
  • Ability to travel up 25%

What will help you on the job

  • Technical knowledge and experience in developing government proposals
  • Familiarity with the US communications market, including key players, customer needs, and emerging trends
  • Understanding of relevant industry agencies and their procurement processes and proposal evaluation criteria
  • Existing relationships with industry and/or Prime Contractor customers

Salary range

$102,000.00 - $161,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $127,000.00- $190,000.00/ annually
