MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN B

TITLE: Mechanical Technician B

POSITION OBJECTIVE: To support the Sr. Technician and the Supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS:

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years experience in manufacturing maintenance department.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Vocational education desirable.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use machinist levels and transit.
• Change motor controllers.
• Rebuild vacuum pumps and water rings.
• Aid and train the "C" level mechanics.
• Overhaul all types of gearboxes.
• Do all necessary and required paperwork.
• Support the Sr. Technician and the Supervisors.
• Oversee the work of the "C" mechanics.
• Complete the necessary paperwork with Preventative Maintenance's and workorders.
• Assist Sr. Technician with installations of new equipment.
• Complete housekeeping assignments as schedule.
• Adhere to ALL Company Rules and Policies.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions not necessarily temperature conditions.
• Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
• Inside and outside environments apply.
• Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
• Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
• Subject to noise causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
• Subject to hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or combustible materials.
• Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by orders, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.
• Subject to oils and other cutting fluids via touch or air.
