Chapel Hill Community The Director of Marketing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing programs to build and develop quality multi site facility occupancy in accordance with Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations which govern the facility.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Coordinates and conducts facility marketing events
  • Develops and implements effective and pertinent marketing plans
  • Markets facility to current and potential referral sources, including but not limited to, physicians, hospital discharge planners, hospital staff, government agencies, home health agencies, trust officers, attorneys, insurance companies, clergy, etc. and keeps a record of such visits
  • Coordinates the development of advertisement, brochures, media campaigns, etc.
  • Develops relationships with community groups (civic, senior citizens, etc.)
  • Arranges appearances at meetings
  • Makes presentations to groups regarding facility services
  • Completes hospital or home-based assessments to determine appropriate placement
  • Assists facility in determining resident and family satisfaction
  • Provides timely follow-up on family or guarantor complaints and problem solves with residents and/or staff
  • Monitors inquiry, admission and census trends as part of continuous performance improvement
  • Oversees database of referral sources, community resources, industry trends, legislative and regulatory issues
  • Operates as part of back-up system for admissions
  • Maintains required records and reports
  • Participates in department budget planning and supplies monthly report to supervisor, as requested
  • Maintains confidentiality of necessary information
  • Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride
  • Dementia Special Care Unit--Follows all appropriate safety and security guidelines, procedures and protocol for residents in the Unit; Participates in relevant educational and training activities as appropriate
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or directed

Skills & Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school): Required
  • Experience: Three (3) years or more of related experience
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient at operating a computer, the Internet and general office equipment
  • Certifications & Licenses: Must possess a valid driver's license; Must obtain and maintain mandatory, state and federal requirements and certifications for practice or occupation
  • Other Requirements: Sales experience, particularly in health care services, products or pharmaceuticals is desirable; Must be able to read, write, understand and speak the English language; Must be able to work closely with Administrator, Director of Nursing, Admissions Coordinator, families and facility employees at multiple sites; Must function independently, have flexibility and personal integrity; Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
