What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Government Property Administrator to join our dynamic team in Duluth, GA! This hybrid role offers the unique blend of working collaboratively within our Duluth office and the flexibility of remote work.

As a Property Administrator at Viasat, you'll play a crucial role in On-site and Off-site Material Control, supporting our Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering departments. You will ensure Government program compliance by managing and updating process control documents, overseeing inventory and tracking of Government-owned materials, and coordinating with auditors. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining material data in Viasat's systems, assisting with contract closeouts and loss reporting, and ensuring adherence to FAR 52.245-1 and internal timelines. Strong organizational skills are key as you'll manage improvement projects, monitor inventory, and ensure proper material handling.


The day-to-day

  • Manage property records for all assets, including uniquely identified, summary, subcontractor, excess, and disposed property.
  • Generate various property reports as requested, such as government inventory and status updates.
  • Resolve complex property issues by applying sound judgment and adhering to government regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in meetings related to government property.
  • Collaborate with Lab Custodians to ensure proper control of property within laboratories.
  • Build strong relationships with Program Managers to stay informed about new contracts, modifications, and other changes.
  • Identify and execute proper tagging for all materials.
  • Interface with the Materials team, Program Management, and Contracts regarding all Government Property requirements.
  • Support the Compliance Leader during regular Self-Assessment audits.
  • Assist in documenting gains and losses, including their valuation.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for the Government Property team.
  • Provide expert support during internal and external property audits.

What you'll need

  • 3+ years of experience in government property administration, basic inventory management, or contract review.
  • An Associate's degree in contracts, inventory control, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with FAR 52.245-1 (the Government Property clause).
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and Word.
  • Self-motivated and takes ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Must be NPMA CPPS certified or willing to obtain certification within 18 months of hire.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this U.S. Government position.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

What will help you on the job

  • 3+ years of experience in a government property administration role with a government contracting company is preferred.
  • Prior experience managing inventory specifically for government property projects.
  • Experience in an ERP environment with super user responsibilities.

Salary range

$28.37 - $44.71 / hourly.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $35.1 - $52.88/ hourly
