Job Description

Summary/objective

Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL more than 123 years ago. Buffalo Rock manages the best beverage portfolio in the country, which includes several beloved global and regional brands. The Inventory Supervisor will be responsible for the inventory management process, ensuring inventory accuracy and proper rotation following FEFO method, and will coordinate all the activities needed to maintain the inventory. The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for the efficient product flow to and from our customers and will oversee the Sanitation team guaranteeing the cleanliness of the Central Hub operational areas.

* Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position. Position is required
to work all the hours necessary to ensure operations function is fulfilled, including nights,
weekends, holidays.

  • Supervise the Inventory and Sanitation Employee-Partners.

o Provide guidance, direction, training, and support during the executions of the inventory cycle and wall to wall counts, close date reports, solving discrepancies, and cleaning activities, etc.

o Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth workflow and productivity to the Inventory and Sanitation team.

o Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • * Ensure all Employee Partners (EPs) are trained in the most recent version of the established standard operational procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Also, must ensure that all the team members are up to date with the assigned training program.

  • * Must be hands-on with the team completing daily activities including and not limited to inventory counts, solving discrepancies, close date reports, etc.

  • * Lead and manage all EOM cycle counts which could require weekend duty. Verify and confirm all counts and submit findings to the Warehouse System Operations Manager within the set timeline.

  • * Must lead and participate in the End of Year Inventory (EOY) which could require holiday duty, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

  • * Manage close-dated process weekly and report to the Operations Systems Manager to ensure timely shipments of close-dated product. Adjust as needed.

  • * Conduct regular inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy, minimize discrepancies supporting the timely delivery of products adjusting inventory accordingly before the daily upload to the Vertique System utilizing the warehouse management system.

  • * Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory corrections, stock movements, close date reports, and discrepancies for management review.

  • * Enforce product and quality checks (identify defects or non-conformities) ensuring products meet packaging specifications and are allocated correctly as per the location-based inventory (LBI) and close date.

  • * Administrate and control the Alcohol products inventory with 100% accuracy.

  • * Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory management. Work with other departments to identify and resolve inventory issues and sanitation issues.

  • * Assist the Sanitation Shift Lead during the daily start up meeting with all team members to communicate relevant information, discuss safety, and motivate team for the day's shift.

  • * Ensure all forklift operators complete Infolink pre-trip inspections and leave the forklift properly charging at the end of the shift.

  • * Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams, to coordinate workflow, address any operational issues, equipment malfunction or unsafe conditions, and any issue that needs to be promptly addressed.

  • * Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety guidelines. Conduct safety huddles with the team, identify and mitigate potential safety hazards, and enforce safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • * Enforce the compliance of the cleaning process, GMP's, and housekeeping standards to maintain cleanliness throughout the Central Hub operational areas.

* Adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.

  • Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.
  • * Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 110. Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes. Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.

  • * Carry out any other duties and shifts assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities

Supervises assigned hourly warehouse EPs and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; making recommendations regarding changes in status.

Work environment

Working conditions will require both inside warehouse needs and outside. Temperature conditions will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold.

Other Physical Requirements

* All tasks within the warehouse are physically demanding and labor-intensive. Employees within this role are required to:

* Move and stack pallets weighing up to 65 pounds throughout shift.

* Ability to stand, walk, bend down, reach and climb up and down stairs throughout shift.

* Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth). Must be able to distinguish between red, green, and "off" lights.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced and warm environment, especially during summer months.

* Sense of Sound - Hearing is required for the total workday.

* Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - high visibility shirt or safety vest, slip resistant shoes, mask, eye protection.

Required education and experience

* Education

o High School Diploma or GED: Required

o Additional education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred (will substitute for substantial experience): Preferred

o Must have at least one (1) year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a distribution/ warehouse environment: Required

o Must have at least three (3) years of inventory experience: Required

o Must have experience utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software: Required

o Must have at least one (1) year of forklift experience which includes both sit down and stand-up forklift: Required

* Computer Skills

o Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.: Required
