Job Description

As a Security Professional - Shelter Patrol in LAKELAND, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter and more .

As a Front Desk Security Officer at this shelter location, you will maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming environment for all visitors and residents. Your responsibilities include monitoring entry and exit points, assisting with visitor management, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication. You will be part of a team that values agility, reliability, and innovation, always putting people first and acting with integrity in every interaction.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $13.50 / Hour

Thur 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
Fri 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

Responsibilities:

    Greet and assist clients, visitors, and staff at the front desk, providing a welcoming presence at the shelter location.
  • Carry out security procedures and site-specific policies to help maintain order and address any security-related incidents.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verifying identification and controlling access to the premises as required.
  • Document and report any unusual activities, incidents, or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with emergency response activities when appropriate, following shelter guidelines and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security experience is required.
  • A valid Guard Card or security license is preferred.
  • Florida Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
