Seneca Foods is seeking a Staff Accountant. The successful candidate would be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties including preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This position also processes Accounts Payable, assists with budgeting, compliance reporting, and Sales and Income tax preparation.

Responsibilities:

* Perform accounting assignments in an accurate and timely manner

* Accounts Payable processing

* Preparing general journal entries

* Account reconciliations

* Sales and Income Tax reporting

* Financial reporting

* Back up other team members/cross train responsibilities

* Provides back up and support to the Treasury Analyst (balancing daily cash accounts)

* 1099 compliance and reporting

Qualifications:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Knowledge of accounting, along with mathematical skills

* Proficient in Excel and Word

* Excellent organizational skills

* Ability to work in a team environment along with self-motivation and self-supervision

* AAS or BS in Accounting preferred

* 2 - 3 years of previous accounting experience preferred but not required

* Equivalent combination of education and experience with related specialized courses

This is an on-site position only.

Wage range based on skills, abilities, and experience from $55,000-$65,000/year
