The Operations Manager is responsible for supervising and managing the company's western regional network of warehouses to ensure customer needs are met while maintaining safe and efficient warehouse operations. This position also works closely with Sales, both Outside Sales and Inside Sales, to ensure customer requirements are understood and satisfied. Supports the development and execution of a strategic plan to meet service, effectiveness and efficiency goals. Participates in the investigation and implementation of robust/improved warehouse management processes via (re)design, training and systems to meet the organization's objectives. Strategic/Operation Planning
- Achieves the highest standards of quality in the daily operations of the various regional warehouses.
- Participates in the development of short and long-term goals, plans, and policies; oversees the development and execution and provides input to planning as needed.
- Proactively works with other functional areas within Operations (Purchasing, Inventory Management, Freight) as well as Sales (Outside and Inside) to identify and address pain points as well as areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Works alongside operations and company leadership to standardize organizational procedures.
Technical/Operational Leadership
- Manages the day-to-day operations of Semitorr and CTW warehouses in Texas, working closely with warehouse leads to ensure efficient material flow from suppliers to customers. Oversees key operational processes, including safety compliance, scanner utilization, and cycle counts, ensuring consistency across locations. This role may also include smaller distribution sites in New Mexico and Colorado in the near future, with occasional travel to other FloWorks locations as needed.
- Manages compliance with all safety program standards for all Western region warehouses including forklift safety, safety meetings, OSHA Form 300 records and posting, and driver safety and all other FloWorks safety standards.
- Accountable for inventory accuracy, cycle count completion, and timely resolution of inventory discrepancies.
- Reports performance metrics for all western region warehouses and takes actions to ensure all performance goals are being met at each location.
- Contributes as part of a multi-regional warehouse management team (drawing from the other regions) to identify and implement opportunities to improve and/or automate key operational processes.
- Leads the team establishing new warehouses within the Western region including all inventory movement, training, staffing, and other required activities.
- Travels as necessary to ensure that all sites are meeting company goals and aligned to standard operational procedures; visiting each warehouse location as needed, and not less than once every six months.
Financial/Resource Management
- Recommends resources in alignment with short and long-term plans.
- Manages resources to ensure priorities are accomplished.
Relationship/People Management
- Ensures effective training for all Warehouse staff and provides team members with an understanding of expectations for service levels and process performance.
- Performs employment functions including interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training, in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Works closely with Operations leadership, peers, and cross-department leadership providing programmatic, organization, and technical support to ensure effective collaboration and integration of operational functions.

- Strong research/problem-solving skills, including the ability to step away from the detail and look at the bigger picture for process improvement opportunities.
- Comfort with developing a (fact-based) point of view and lobbying for it with senior Sales and Operations organization.
- Strong Microsoft Office, Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Epicor 21 (P21) skills highly desirable.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including occasional overnight trips as needed.
- 5 or more years of work experience leading/managing a warehouse organization and collaborating with other operations functions.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 30 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying files, ledgers, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
