Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Waste Management Services reports to the Director of Waste Management Service and is responsible for managing all aspects of waste management operations at Premium Environmental Services. The Manager, Waste Management Services is a highly self-motivated senior manager that provides exemplary leadership and integrity to the workforce. The Manager's responsibilities include establishing short and long-term goals, managing the workforce and capital assets of the company, and managing the profit and loss for their waste vertical of Premium Environmental Services in conjunction with the Director of Waste Management Services. This role requires a high degree of cross business and peer collaboration and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in waste management and environmental regulations, along with proven leadership and management skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Waste Vendor Management - the role includes management of all waste vendors, compliance, and annual reviews.
  • Waste Management Strategy - responsible for working with all client assigned incidents to establish business unit and companywide waste strategy including pricing, sales strategy, and waste coordination of both internal and external disposal options.
  • Waste Compliance - Responsible for establishing and monitoring compliance across all Premium Environmental Services and client assigned opportunities
  • Responsible for supporting the Profit and Loss (P&L) of Waste Management Services companywide, with a primary focus regarding Health and Safety, Waste Compliance, and DOT Compliance.
  • Supports business development efforts for Waste Management Services, as well as assist in the reviews of final pricing and large proposal preparation.
  • Review large proposal preparation and final pricing for presentation to executive management.
  • Work with the Premium and applicable Crystal Clean family company executive leadership team to set the strategic direction and growth plan.
  • Monitor all client relationships, the growth of existing accounts, and the resolution of customer issues.
  • Direct and manage local finance team and interact closely with Premium Environmental Services and Crystal Clean Finance.
  • Conduct ongoing remediation project reviews to ensure that projects are on time and at budget. Set and monitor proper change order management procedures.
  • Advocate a safety culture and ensure safety programs are implemented effectively. Participate in or lead monthly safety meetings, both in areas of influence and companywide.
  • Engage in and or lead new initiatives and strategic planning process.
  • Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.



EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS



  • College degree preferred; professional certifications (PG, PE, CHMM, etc.)
  • 15+ years of Operations and Sales experience
  • 10+ years in hazardous waste management
  • Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and location hazardous waste and safety regulations is required.
  • Leadership experience in waste management services with P&L management experience is required.
  • Experience leading safety programs in a safety-oriented environment is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS



  • Continuous sitting and tasks involving repetitive motions using wrists, hands and fingers are required for periods of 6-8+ hours at a time.
  • Frequent pushing or pulling of weights, twisting, and crouching for prolonged periods are required.
  • Frequent carrying of weights from 0-50 pounds is required.
  • This job operates in an office environment, with some travel required.
