How You Will Contribute: Ciena is a global leader in optical communications, dedicated to transforming the way networks connect and communicate. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Sales Consultant to join our team, focusing on data center interconnects and integrated circuits (IC) in the Global Cloud Networking (GCN) region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, a deep understanding of semiconductor materials, integrated circuits, networking systems, and a proven track record in creating, managing, and growing strategic opportunities. The Must Haves:
- Develop and execute strategic opportunities to achieve design wins and revenue targets to grow business within the GCN Data Center segment.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities leveraging your knowledge of data center networking and compute systems design.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key stakeholders.
- Present, promote, and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
- Monitor and analyze account performance metrics to ensure customer satisfaction and account growth.
- Provide regular updates and reports on account status, sales forecasts, and market trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure customer needs are met.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and market opportunities.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote Ciena and network with potential clients.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on products/services tailored to the audience's needs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitors, and new technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Work closely with the GCN account teams to align data center sales strategies and ensure seamless integration of our solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement customer-specific solutions.
- Act as a liaison between the customer and internal teams to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues.
- Engage with senior leadership to provide insights on market trends and customer feedback.
- Drive revenue growth and market share within the GCN segment.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty through effective account management and support.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of sales strategies and processes.
- Influence product development by providing customer feedback and market insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales or account management, preferably in the networking communications semiconductor components and subsystems industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing key accounts and opportunities.
- Strong understanding of networking systems, optical and routing technologies, and cloud services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Salesforce CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
The annual total target compensation pay range for this position in California is $287,600 - $475,100 USD. This includes both base and incentive compensation. #LI-WH #LI-Remote
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
