Director of Accounting

JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Accounting will work closely with the Vice President of
Accounting to lead and oversee all aspects of the Company's accounting
operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with
accounting standards, and alignment with corporate objectives. This individual
will play a key leadership role in managing the monthly close process, internal
controls, audit coordination, and financial reporting, while continuously
improving accounting policies and procedures to support a growing business. The
ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, establish leadership
acumen, and experience in a complex industrial or manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions
Involved in all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger,
intercompany transactions, and reporting
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and
accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
Ensure compliance with internal control policies and J-SOX
requirements; continuously improve internal control processes.
Oversee the preparation of internal and external financial statements,
management reports, and supporting schedules.
Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Operations to provide financial
insights that drive strategic business decisions.
Coordinate the annual external audit and quarterly review process, working
closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
Evaluate and implement new accounting standards, ensuring
proper interpretation and adoption across the business.
Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team; promote
professional growth and cross-functional collaboration.
Identify and lead accounting process improvement initiatives, including
automation, artificial intelligence and system enhancements.
Support special projects such as M&A activities, risk assessment, and
business process improvement, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
required; CPA required

Experience Details
10 years Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at
least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role, including managing other CPA's
and Accounting professionals.
Experience in a large industrial, manufacturing, or capital-intensive
environment strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing audits and working with external auditors.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, internal controls (e.g., SOX/J-SOX), and
financial reporting. Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Deep knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, and financial reporting best
practices.
Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to interpret and apply
complex accounting standards.
Proven leadership and team development abilities with a focus on mentoring and
performance management.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate financial information
clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with
consolidation and reporting tools a plus.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and drive process
improvements across departments.
Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally with
finance and operations.
