WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Estimator is responsible for creating detailed quotes and proposals pertaining to the manufacturing function of the organization while reviewing, maintaining, and updating records related. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work in an independent environment.



  • Review customer requirements, specifications, and technical data package to create detailed quotes and proposals.
  • Determine manufacturing steps/processes, equipment requirements, programming requirements, set up operations, material, labor, and other items necessary to perform work.
  • Calculate production costs using labor, raw material and processing price estimates.
  • Obtain processing quotes (Heat Treat, Finishing, outside manufacturing, etc.) from approved suppliers as needed.
  • Develop nonrecurring costs such as programming & tooling.
  • Manage tracking of quotes through completion via ERP system.


ABOUT YOU:

To perform the role of Estimator successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • 5-10 years of experience performing machine shop estimating/quoting of medium to high complexity parts, including knowledge of setup and operation of a diverse range of machines. Quoting experience must be with CNC mill and lathe operations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and basic operating principles building parts using 3/4/5-axis CNC milling, programming, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly.
  • Extensive experience/knowledge in reading, analyzing, and understanding technical specifications, drawings, bills of material, material, and process specifications, quality documentation, and associated documentation.
  • Extensive knowledge of the types of tooling and materials required for specific applications.
  • Experience with the planning and manufacturing modules of ERP systems.

  • Team-player who can handle working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with minimal supervision and handle multitasking.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.


  • Manual dexterity skills required.
