The Strategic Supplier Programs Sr. Manager proactively creates and develops business opportunities with both new and existing suppliers to generate income, expense savings or create efficiencies. Research market trends to identify best practices, solutions, strategies to achieve competitive advantage.

This position is based in Temple, TX, which will require the candidate to report and work from the office on a regular basis. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute commute to Temple, TX

Essential Job Functions/Principal Accountabilities:



  • Develop budgets, create strategies, monitor progress, and initiate action to achieve income and profit goals within assigned category(s).
  • Track and report to Senior Management assigned category(s) financial performance for the company each period and quarterly.
  • Develop solutions and strategies for new and existing suppliers to generate income.
  • Research products for capacity requirements, revenue streams, and customer satisfaction.
  • Understand market trends to evolve product strategies as consumer changes occur.
  • Create and execute project work plans and successfully deliver on timelines and project goals and objectives.
  • Developing market specific growth activities and maintaining regional broker/supplier relationships.
  • Develop strategic business alliances with suppliers within the assigned category.
  • Develop and maintain senior level management supplier relations.
  • Negotiate, coordinate, document, and track performance-based wholesale income programs in accordance with company policy and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Support division sales teams in their efforts to increase business with current customers.
  • Work with operational management to improve efficiency of operation through accountability of supplier performance.
  • Understand key commodity indicators impact to our business and work with income analyst to ensure appropriate tracking and monitoring.
  • Oversee potential pay-for-storage income opportunities.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, analyses, and metrics to track program success.
  • Implement new items launch strategies into the annual planning process.
  • Continuously improve processes, meet, or exceed targets, and share best practices with team.
  • Drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership with decisive actions.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships to encourage best pricing, availability, and delivery methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 5 or more years' experience sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and overseeing product lines.
  • Strong knowledge of the convenience store industry and distribution environment.
  • Proven procurement and supply chain experience to optimize product utilization.
  • Enthusiastic, passionate, and goal oriented with strategic sourcing experience.
  • Have PC knowledge to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset and ability to identify/create revenue opportunities.
  • Ability to understand and compute the profitability of different product lines.
  • Ability to produce accurate and informative analyses and presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong negotiation experience required.
  • Outstanding networking skills and ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Expertise in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and have a working knowledge of Access.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance multiple priorities, and solid decision making and planning skills.
  • Ability to understand problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to problem solving and research.


Working Conditions:



  • The work conditions are primarily being an office.
  • Travel of less than 20% is required.
