Healthcare Cloud Architect | Full-Time | Remote

As a Healthcare Cloud Architect, you bring your subject matter expertise, working with clients to design solutions that meet their business needs. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the architecture needed to support healthcare workloads in the cloud, primarily Epic on Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. This position will utilize your deep understanding of both Epic EHR systems and Microsoft Azure, and your experience successfully migrating complex healthcare infrastructures to the cloud.

What You'll Accomplish:
Client Delivery:


  • Lead consulting engagements to migrate healthcare workloads to the cloud.
  • Develop comprehensive cloud architecture plans for migrating Epic and surrounding application workloads to Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security, and aligned to Vervint, Microsoft, andEpic best practices.
  • Work closely with healthcare clients to understand their existing workloads and infrastructure platforms, define and document requirements, and design tailored architecture and delivery blueprints
  • Lead cloud infrastructure design for production, DR, and non-product environments.
  • Optimize computer, storage, and networking for application performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of architecture solutions.
  • Work with cross-vendor technical teams to ensure compliance with supported configurations.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies related to architecture solutions.



Domain Competency:


  • Collect and digest best practices from multiple vendors, distilling into a unified architecture for a given engagement.
  • Provide thought-leadership and guidance on architectural principles, patterns, and methodologies within the healthcare cloud space.
  • Define architecture principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency and alignment across projects and initiatives.
  • Define the key requirements, limitations, and assumptions that are needed to control risk.
  • Establish and enforce architectural governance processes and controls to ensure compliance with architecture standards, security requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Design desktop and workspace virtualization platforms with Citrix, Omnissa, and/or Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Perform modern infrastructure deployment and automation methodologies including DevOps pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC).



Business Development/Pre-Sales:


  • Help identify new contract opportunities and is one of the primary authors of contracts.



Practice Development:



  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices within the healthcare cloud space and help clients and other team members understand where the industry is going, and how that can be leverage in their strategy.


  • Create detailed documentation of architecture designs, implementation plans, and best practices.


  • Actively participate in professional development activities, such as training, conferences, and certifications to enhance your skills and capabilities.


  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration within the architecture community.




People Management:


  • Participate in sprint planning, retros, and other needed ceremonies to ensure the team understands what each work item is, and how to go about the work to ensure it achieves the required outcome.
  • Provides technical leadership and mentorship to project teams and Vervint consultants, guiding them on architecture best practices for Cloud and Epic technologies to enhance consultative capabilities.



Client Management:


  • Develop new relationships with customer stakeholders and is viewed as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance and architectural expertise to address their needs and achieve their business goals.
  • Engage with clients to understand their business objectives, technical requirements, and challenges.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop architecture strategies, roadmaps, and solutions that address their needs and align with their business goals.
  • Provides thought leadership and strategic intent throughout engagements with Vervint's clients.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts, and architectural decisions clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders.


What You'll Bring:


  • Expertise in Azure, including VM sizing, networking, and security.
  • Experience architecting all tiers of Epic services, including operational databases, Cogito, web and services systems, and hyperspace presentation technologies.
  • Architectural experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and DaaS, NetScaler and F5 load balancers, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Experience developing new relationships with customer stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels. Experienced presenting to large internal and/or external groups.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
  • A mindset that is comfortable working at the intersection of technology and business.
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification required.
  • Epic ODB or ECSA certification desired.



Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure.
  • At least 5 years of experience in cloud architecture.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a lead technical role, providing technical leadership, or acting as a technical project manager.
