We are seeking an Environmental Team Lead to join our West Unit. This individual will be responsible for nurturing existing client relationships and forging new ones, while also developing and expanding a local team across Southern California.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Establishing client relationships and developing opportunities for Mott MacDonald's environmental services
  • Providing technical support in client, stakeholder, and public consultations; acting as a technical expert and providing advice and solutions to meet the client's requirements.
  • Taking responsibility for project delivery, including time, cost, coordination, and stakeholder management.
  • Directly participating in the oversight of project teams responsible for environmental site assessment, wetland delineations, threatened & endangered species habitat assessment, field surveys, NEPA documentation, environmental report/permit development, constraint mapping, and public involvement support.
  • Preparing and reviewing permit applications and conducting consultation, reviewing wetland delineations and biological inventories; conducting routing studies and impact analysis for NEPA documents.
  • Preparing proposals, cost estimates, and staffing plans for environmental projects and services.
  • Exemplify leadership by upholding Mott MacDonald's ethical standards and values, ensuring zero tolerance for unacceptable behaviors.
  • Engage proactively across the Unit and North America, demonstrating inspiring leadership. Foster collaboration across the Region to deliver the best of Mott MacDonald to our clients.
  • Enhance employee engagement, retention, well-being, and opportunities by leveraging effective people management processes, making Mott MacDonald the employer of choice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Mott MacDonald and drive a one Mott MacDonald approach.



Requirements:



  • 15+ years of experience in environmental planning
  • A passion for leadership, with an ability to inspire and lead a group of people as a collaborative effort through a team mentality and maintaining a high level of staff morale and performance
  • Through previous experience demonstrate a broad understanding of challenges and opportunities across our markets, with a keen eye for emerging opportunities and trends that will drive sustainable business growth at scale.
  • A visible leader who possesses exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of project delivery with a focus on budget, schedule, and quality as well as commercial management.
  • Experience in developing strategies for growth, managing budgets, and overall resource management responsibilities.

At Mott MacDonald, we provide a comprehensive benefit package that includes 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance.

The expected salary for this position is $178,000 - $218,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
