Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategicManager Accounts Receivable to lead our U.S. Accounts Receivable and Collections operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the full end-to-end (E2E) accounts receivable cycle - from customer credit evaluation and granting through to cash application - with a focus on driving process improvements, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will be both analytical and action-oriented, with a strong track record of optimizing AR functions and improving cash flow performance.This role involves managing the credit department and ensuring that the company's credit risk is minimized while maximizing sales and profitability.

This position will lead a dedicated AR Team, ensuring a high level of accuracy is achieved while identifying issues and developing plans for swift resolution. This full-time position will report to the Vice President Finance at our Liberty Packaging location in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and manage the full end-to-end U.S. accounts receivable process, including credit review, customer onboarding, invoicing accuracy, collections, dispute resolution, and cash application.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize AR processes and reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), bad debt, and unapplied cash.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve AR workflows and systems to increase efficiency, scalability, and automation opportunities.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and IT to streamline handoffs and improve customer experience.
  • Establish and maintain effective credit policies and procedures to assess creditworthiness and set appropriate credit terms.
  • Continually monitor and review existing customer accounts to ensure timely payments and compliance with credit terms.
  • Oversee the collection process, including negotiating payment plans and resolving disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with sales and use tax requirements, maintain resale and exemption certificates for appropriate customers, and support corporate tax return filing efforts.
  • Support year-end audit requests, including confirmation and reconciliation of selected customers' accounts receivable balances.
  • Leverage data and analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and proactively address potential credit or collection issues.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to measure AR health, collection efficiency, and process effectiveness.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives such as automation of dunning processes, digital payment solutions, and self-service portals.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the AR and collections team to support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of Accounts Receivable experience or related experience
  • Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams
  • Power user in Excel; Expert Level
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Candidates should be comfortable navigating through ambiguity and managing multiple priorities

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Amtech and Power BI experience
  • The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical, critical thinking and communication skills, and strong financial systems knowledge

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $99,470 - $124,338 per year plus eligibility in annual bonus program. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.
