Position Summary: Under general supervision from the respective department manager, the Kroc Attendant position will be available for the following areas: Fitness Center, Gymnasium, Climbing Wall, Game Room, Child Watch, Pool, and Events. Kroc Attendants will be responsible for providing information about the facility and our programs and for providing prompt customer service to all the patrons in their assigned area. They will be responsible for the cleanliness of their assigned area and for enforcing safety guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities:

General Duties



  • Maintain accurate equipment check in and out procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned area and its equipment following departmental specific guidelines
  • Return all equipment to the proper location
  • Report all equipment breakdowns according to departmental procedure
  • Enforce all safety guidelines that pertain to the assigned area on a constant and consistent basis.



Fitness

Provide general supervision of the fitness center and its participants



  • Provide information and answer questions about available drop-in classes, programs, events, and equipment.
  • Provide fitness floor orientations by request and tours to prospective new members.
  • Check in 12-15-year-old patrons who have passed the Teen Fit Permit class.
  • Perform class and program check-in procedures.
  • Complete hourly headcounts and shift checklists as assigned.



Gym

Provide general supervision of the Gym area and its participants



  • Provide information and answer questions about available programs, gym schedule and events.
  • Follow the weekly gym schedule as outlined in the Monthly Drop-In Recreation Schedule.
  • Maintain accurate headcounts.
  • Organize and supervise activities in the gym as assigned.
  • Operate scoreboard when needed.
  • Assist in class and program check-in procedures.
  • Collect and manage the Lost and Found.
  • Wash lost and found items, towels, and other items as needed.
  • Ensure participants under 18 years of age are wearing wristbands.



Climbing Wall

Provide general supervision of the Climbing Wall and its participants



  • Provide supervision and instruction for the climbing wall during open climb and other climbing programs.
  • Provide information and answer questions about climbing hours, guidelines, programs, events, and equipment.
  • Track usage and complete shift checklists as assigned.
  • Give general instruction on how to climb safely and properly.
  • Perform belaying testing for interested parties.
  • Verify climbers have a membership or have purchased a day pass.


Ensure patron safety



  • Enforce all guidelines that pertain to the climbing wall a constant and consistent basis.
  • Ensure climbing harness is securely fastened on climbers.
  • Attach and remove belay device to each patron.
  • Inspect routes and equipment and notify manager when repair is needed.



Child Watch/Game Room Attendant

Supervise and entertain children placed in Child Watch and the Child Watch areas.



  • Follow check-in/check-out procedures for all children
  • Verify membership and day pass users.
  • Maintain daily observation logs and all paperwork related to the assigned shift.
  • Be aware of and apply concepts from the 40 Developmental Assets.


Ensure child/patron safety



  • Report any suspicion of child abuse to the Youth Development Supervisor or Lead



Pool

Provide general supervision of the aquatic center, locker rooms, and its participants.



  • Safely dispatch patrons down the slide.
  • Monitor and assure proper usage of locker rooms, inner tubes, and spray pad area.
  • Maintain accurate headcounts.
  • Notify members and staff when pool is closed for contamination or power outage.
  • Assist with swimming tests as needed.
  • Ensure participants under 18 years of age are wearing wristbands.
  • Ensure children under the age of 12 have proper adult supervision
  • Collect and manage the Lost and Found.



Events

Presentation of food and beverage.



  • Arrange containers (plates, pans, baskets, etc.) of food and beverages for both function and aesthetics.
  • Assemble and arrange cold and hot food bars.
  • Fill glasses, pitchers, carafes, etc. with beverages and place for both function and aesthetics.


Set-up, tear-down and bussing



  • Assist with placement, set-up, tear down, and storage of tables, chairs, linens, and decorations.
  • Set up and tear down of beverage station.
  • Clear tables and refill beverage glasses.
  • Bussing tables and dishwashing.
  • Ensure event runs smoothly.
  • Be familiar with service and storage areas and be able to direct guests, vendors and suppliers to appropriate locations.
  • Assist vendors and suppliers with unloading/loading help.
  • Keep event on track to ensure it ends in a timely manner.



Guest Relations



  • Welcome guests in the lobby and guide them to their assigned area.
  • Keep current on all events you will be hosting
  • Work cooperatively with Kroc staff and off-site vendors.



Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High school diploma or GED equivalency.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Spanish preferred.

Be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
