CSULA & PCC Campus recruitment-Only. Students currently attending Cal State L.A. or PCC may apply.

Work Schedule: This is a student part-time position or full-time position, up to 40 hours per
week during the summer, 20 hours per week during the academic year; non-exempt
position. This position is not eligible for benefits. This is a temporary appointment expiring
on or before August 15, 2025, contingent upon the availability of funds.

Position Overview: Under the direct supervision of a faculty mentor, the incumbent will gain
hands-on experience in STEM research and/or curriculum development while working
alongside faculty and fellow students. This position allows students to explore potential
career paths in research, gain practical skills, and build valuable connections with Cal
State LA and Pasadena City College faculty.
Essential functions: Duties include but are not limited to:
* Assist with ongoing research projects in a variety of STEM fields
* Conduct laboratory experiments and/or collect field data under the guidance of
faculty and graduate students.
* Aid in the development of community-engaged modules for STEM courses,
including designing and testing SOPs for the field and lab.
* Analyze and interpret data
* Fulfill other duties as assigned

Requirements: The incumbent must be a student currently attending Cal State L.A or
Pasadena City College. A completed Student Employment Application is required along
with proof of course schedule to determine enrollment status. The incumbent must have
strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel knowledge is a plus, and
pay attention to detail. The incumbent must have working knowledge of English grammar,
spelling, punctuation and proofreading; some writing and editing skills. Ability to work
independently with minimal supervision; ability to complete tasks without prompting. The
incumbent must also demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/
multiethnic environment.
