Job Description:

The Public Finance Paralegal is responsible for providing support and assistance to attorneys in the management, coordination, and administration of all aspects of the practice area within established administrative procedures. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

Location: Rochester, NY

  • Prepare inducement documents and engagement packages for numerous industrial development agencies, economic development corporations and state financing agencies.
  • Prepare drafts of straight lease transaction documents, bond financing and closing documents and arrange for distribution.
  • Prepare real estate recording forms necessary to record lease and bond transaction documents.
  • Prepare termination documents for lease and bond transactions.
  • Proofread and arrange for distribution of marked drafts to working groups for review and comment.
  • Organize all closing details including, but not limited to, closing memorandum and preparation and execution of signature pages, organization and printing of all documents including, if applicable, UCC financing statements, bonds, and DTC letter of representations
  • Interface with industrial development agencies, economic development corporations, state financing agencies, clients, borrowers, and lenders ad their respective counsels
  • Some travel required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external personnel of all levels.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to meet varying deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient is some aspects of the practice area.
  • Exhibit substantial willingness to learn from senior paralegals.
  • Intermediate knowledge of practice support systems, group specific software and other legal support websites.
  • Intermediate knowledge of applications and electronic databases typically used within a law firm (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, NetDocuments, County Clerk Websites, Land Max and GIS Websites).

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows: Rochester, NY: $55,550 to $79,200

In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications. Because such contingent compensation is not yet calculable or may be zero ($0) in some circumstances, the above-listed salary range(s) are Nixon Peabody's good faith estimate of the annual salary(ies) it reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of this posting.
