Primary Responsibilities:
The Program Accountant will be responsible for completing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities on time and on quality. They will be responsible for the maintenance of the cost accounting system, ensuring the accurate settlement of direct and indirect expenses across various departments and business areas. The jobholder will assume responsibility for key components of the site income statement and balance sheet including, but not limited to, revenue, cost of goods sold, gross margin (and %), and work in process inventory. The jobholder will analyze and understand system transactions; calculating production costing; researching and correcting issues as necessary as well as maintaining system cost account standards through analysis of various cost pools and allocation methods. The Program Accountant will identify program risks and opportunities on the closing and measure their potential impact on the financial statements by ensuring the mitigation actions are assigned to the appropriate stakeholders and implemented to full effect. The Program Accountant will implement and maintain appropriate entries for fixed assets for the Kinston site. He or she will also contribute and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring that the organization is ready and prepared.
The jobholder will participate in department projects and/or cross-department projects. They will act as a team member of the Finance organization to contribute to the integration, automization, and digitalization of the closing process when applicable. He or she will ensure implementation of ERP system enhancements and other financial tools that enhance operational effectiveness. Qualifications Requirements:
