Project Manager - Energy (Electrical Engineer)
Halff has an immediate opening for a Project Manager supporting our Energy Practice. This position can be located in our Oklahoma City office. The ideal candidate for this position will have engineering experience with Electric Power Infrastructure, including Distribution Design and Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity with our growing Energy team. What you will do:
- Lead a design team, coordinate with clients and lead delivery of energy design projects for private and public clients.
- Lead the team in the design of multiple distribution and/or I&E projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, including the design package for both overhead and underground projects.
- Work closely with the Energy group leaders in developing the growth strategies for the team.
- Prepare project schedules and budgets, engineering and construction drawings, cost estimates, bills of materials, and other required deliverables.
- Review and check the work of team members.
- Perform and oversee various distribution calculations, including cable pulling, voltage drop, and pole loading calculations.
- Prepare client presentations, reports, and visualizations to demonstrate technical results and project status.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships within the industry.
- Responsible for on-site visits as necessary to collect existing overhead and underground electric infrastructure information, attend meetings, and develop or maintain client relationships.
- All other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree with a PE.
- PE License in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or ability to obtain within one year (NCEES record, a plus)
- Must have a minimum 7 years of experience as an engineer in an A/E or design/construction firm, or within a dedicated design group of an electric utility, petrochem, or other related industry firm that designs electric power infrastructure.
- High-level of interpersonal relationship, communications, facilitation, team building, collaboration skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to strengthen and develop relationships with new and existing clients through both face-to-face and remote means.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with CAD-based or GIS-based design tools for electric power infrastructure.
- Experience with some, or all, of the following:
- National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
- National Electric Code (NEC)
- Electric Power Infrastructure standards, from a utility or the Rural Utility Services (RUS)
