What you'll do In this important role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services team, you will support the AlixPartners Infrastructure Applications team. This position is a key member of the Infrastructure Team and is responsible for ensuring that Microsoft 365 services are effectively utilized, secure, and aligned with business needs. The Infrastructure Applications Lead provides technical leadership for the team, ensuring smooth operations of collaboration tools and cloud services while maintaining compliance with security policies. They will also act as the point of escalation for complex issues and drive continuous improvement of the Microsoft 365 platform to support the increasing demands from the greater AlixPartners community. The IT Infrastructure Applications Lead is a full-time role located in Southfield, MI and reports to the Infrastructure Manager. Paid relocation is not available for this position.
- Manage Microsoft 365 Environment: Administer and maintain the Microsoft 365 tenant (including Exchange Online, Teams, etc.), ensuring it is configured for optimal performance and reliability.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures and compliance policies across all Microsoft 365 services as directed by the security teams. Regularly review configurations (e.g. access controls, data loss prevention, retention policies) to ensure security, regulatory compliance, and system integrity.
- Optimizing Collaboration Tools: Continuously optimizing collaboration tools to improve user productivity and support a growing hybrid workforce. This includes refining applications and tool's structure, permissions, and integrations based on organizational needs.
- Escalation & Troubleshooting: Act as the highest escalation point for Microsoft 365 issues, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems that are escalated. Ensure root causes are identified and long-term solutions implemented to prevent recurrence.
- Project Oversight: Plan and execute Microsoft 365 projects and upgrades (such as migrations, new feature deployments or integrations). Coordinate project resources and timelines to deliver improvements with minimal disruption to users, while keeping project stakeholders informed of progress and challenges.

What you'll need
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in IT, including substantial hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 (or Office 365) environments. Familiarity with managing cloud-based collaboration and messaging services in an enterprise setting is expected.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (preferred) or the equivalent in training and experience.
- Experience in a 24x7x365 service delivery model supporting mission-critical business operations.
- Experience in delivering IT projects or improvements (such as migrations to Microsoft 365, tenant reorganizations, or security enhancements). Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams (such as security, compliance, or support teams) on such projects is a positive.
- Exceptional leadership presence with a collaborative approach. Able to inspire and motivate others, foster teamwork, and build a positive working environment.
- Proactive and resourceful mindset towards challenges. Enjoys troubleshooting and finding creative solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Capable of explaining technical concepts in plain language and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Flexible and adaptable to change. Able to prioritize in a dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks or urgent issues while maintaining attention to detail and effectiveness.
- Proficient knowledge of general enterprise IT principles and practices, including experience with both hardware and software designs including workflows.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly research new platforms and issues.
- Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
