Job Description

General Summary:

The Stem Cell Senior Research Associate delivers reliably and responsibly on research initiatives including the development of human stem cell models and assays to evaluate targets and lead molecules for Vertex diseases. Applies technical prociency and attention to detail skills in "troubleshooting", and ability to interpret changes in methodological design. Works with supervisor in setting the objectives of initiatives but may have responsibility for some experimental design.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executes, and interprets experiments, with a high degree of reliability
  • Leverages technical experience to help prioritize studies, based on Project impact
  • Performs basic statistical analysis of experimental data, where appropriate
  • Conducts own experimental troubleshooting on routine problems
  • Assists with publication and patent submission processes
  • Prepares lucid protocols and written study reports
  • Surveys relevant scientic literature to maintain awareness of issues and trends within the eld
  • Present studies effectively at internal Group/Department or Project Team research meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven technical prociency and demonstrated skill in conducting and interpreting experiments including the development of human stem cell models and assays to evaluate targets and lead molecules for Vertex diseases.
  • Uses technical knowledge to design and execute follow-up experiments
  • Demonstrated understanding of analysis and interpretation of experimental data with prociency in problem solving and protocol renement
  • Often deployed to investigations with more signicant consequences and need for reliability
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal), especially within their technical area(s)

Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degree (or equivalent degree) in biological sciences and 0-2 years of relevant employment experience, or
  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent degree) in biological sciences and 4+ years of relevant employment experience

Pay Range:

$74,800 - $112,200

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
