The ILS Specialist will develop, write, illustrate and edit material for technical manuals, instruction sheets, presentations and related technical publications in print or electronic media.
. Essential Functions: Support the development of clear, accurate documentation for military equipment. Understanding and experience in Military standards and technical development. Ability to translate complex engineering information into understandable text and illustrations for both technical and non-technical audience, including service members and support personnel. Associates Degree in a technical related field with 4+ years relevant experience. Bachelors Degree in a technical related field with 0-3 years experience. Minimum education and years of experience requirements are not to be used exclusive of other leveling factors. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered. Proven ability to simplify complex technical information for non-technical users. Experience developing technical manuals, maintenance procedures, or installation guides. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, preferably military equipment. Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and parts lists. Proficiency with CAD software Creo or equivalent software. Profiency using Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with technical writing standards, formatting, and publishing tools. Strong attention to detail with excellent grammar, spelling, and editing skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical team members. |
