Application Window Open date: May 1, 2025 Next review date: Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Sunday, Nov 1, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Manager, Quantitative Metabolite Analysis Center DESCRIPTION The Benioff Center for Microbiome Medicine (BCMM) at the Parnassus campus of UCSF is recruiting an analytical chemist to serve as Manager for the Quantitative Metabolite Analysis Center and to conduct microbiome research. The general responsibilities of this position are as follows: * Metabolomics Research: Conduct specialized research studies related to the production, identification, and quantification of microbial-derived metabolites and their impact on the prediction, prevention, and treatment of human disease. Develop and implement novel metabolomics tools to address ongoing challenges in the field. Disseminate study findings through presentations and publications. Contribute to research funding proposals to sustain and grow research activities. Candidates will be expected to work independently and in a collaborative multidisciplinary team of microbial genomicists, microbiologists, immunologists, analytical chemists, and biostatisticians. The Manager will supervise a staff research assistant and summer interns. Opportunities for career development will be provided and encouraged. The candidate will report to the Assistant Director of the Quantitative Metabolite Analysis Center in the Benioff Center for Microbiome Medicine.
