JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Project Manager, BX18 Chicago Department of Aviation - O'Hare International Airport Finance Division Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $86,520.00 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on May 15, 2025. Working with the Deputy Commissioner (CFO) and Director of Finance, and other management of the Department of Aviation to prepare the annual non-personnel budget. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Scheduling meeting up with sections to gather non-personnel budget information to understand the section's needs and intentions for the upcoming budget year. * Reviewing budget justifications to ensure the budget requested from each section is necessary and the justification provided accurately conveys the purpose of the requested budget and gives reasoning for the amount requested. * Complying and creating the budget book to present to City Counsel for budget approval. * Supporting the Director of Finance on various financial-related issues relating to the Office of Budget and Management, City Comptroller's Office, airline representatives and government and delegate agencies such as the FAA, FHWA, and USDOT. * Establishing and implementing auditing systems and financial controls by FMPS and checking budget balance in FMS to ensure appropriate use of funding by sections. * Function as a specialized advisor to the Director of Finance and CFO to provide clear and concise explanation for any non-personnel budgetary questions that might arise. * Multi-task multiple projects with strong results orientation and work with tight deadlines. Additional duties may be required for this position. LOCATION: Chicago Department of Aviation - Finance Division 10510 W. Zemke Road DAYS & HOURS: MONDAY-FRIDAY 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration or a field of study directly related to the responsibilities of the position, plus five years of project management work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. * May be required to work late nights or weekends. * A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required. * The candidate(s) selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA).
