THE ROLE

The self-motivated and keen to learn Software Engineer will work with multiple databases/data stores, build data pipelines, and make enhancements to multi-tiered application code. The candidate must be able to independently design and build small systems, or work with a more senior developer on a complex project. Responsibilities also include operational tasks, troubleshooting and production support. In addition, we are looking for someone who thrives in an agile and collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Writes, debugs, and tests code following best practices and SDLC in Python, Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica Data Quality Informatica MDM, and Azure

  • Participate in any stand-up or scrum planning meetings as needed. Communicate progress and blockers clearly with peers, leads, product owners, etc.

  • Contribute internal documentation for code, instructions, on-boarding, etc.

  • Stay engaged in learning the domain, team standards, and technologies used.

  • Take initiative in picking up small tasks or pairing with a Sr. Engineer

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or related field.

  • Strong technical acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills required

  • Skills in one or more programming languages: SQL, JAVA, python, scripting such as Perl.

  • Relational database knowledge: Experience with Oracle and SQL Server preferred.

  • Strong written and oral communications skilled required.

  • Be able to Collaborate with other IT and business groups in project implementation.

  • Learn new technologies, designs systems and delivers projects.

PREFERRED:

  • One to two years' programming experience

  • Financial Industry Knowledge
