JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Job Description

Position Title: 4-H Interim Program Assistant- Lackawanna County

Brief Summary of Position:

This individual will serve as a Lackawanna County Cooperative Extension team member, managing the 4-H program for 4-H youth members and adult volunteer leaders.

Time Requirements: Approximately 10 hours/week, fluctuating depending on the time of the year. The individual must be available for evening and weekend events to fulfill the position's responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with staff to maintain county program. Support 4-H members, leaders and families in registering and attending programs and events. Coordinate registration and supervision for 4-H members in programs.
  • Work with the County 4-H Program Development Committee to continue the 4-H program in the absence of a full-time educator.
  • Provide communication to volunteers, youth and parents about upcoming programs and opportunities.
  • Continue program documentation and reporting.
  • Support volunteers to continue 4-H clubs.

Basic Skills Required:

Possess good communication skills needed for individual communication with members, parents, leaders, and teachers. Possess organizational and record keeping skills. Possess computer skills for creating documents and marketing pieces.

Salary:

$14.00 per hour. Mileage expenses paid/reimbursed at IRS rate.

* PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form

* FBI Criminal Background Check

This position requires the applicant to operate a motor vehicle as part of the job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required.
