What you'll be doing...
Your work will have a direct impact on our reported financial results and ensure compliance with internal controls and external legislation. You will ensure the accurate and timely filing of Federal, State and Local Tax returns for our regulated and non-regulated companies. You will also perform a variety of other activities including data analysis and tax liability reconciliations. This position will primarily support the existing Quarter End tax process, provide timely responses to ADP inquiries and/or inquiries from state agencies as they develop in the due course of the business activities. In this position you will also:
- Work with our 3rd party provider on error resolution & balancing to ensure timely and accurately quarterly tax return filings.
- Balance post quarterly 941 Reports and complete Federal SOD Recon.
- Analyze W-2 Reports generated from ADP runs and care for any action items.
- Have responsibility for the Annual FUTA Credit Reduction State Filings.
- Create and work SRs related to ADP system processing.
- Test ADP Quarterly Releases to ensure functionality to support upcoming tax changes is working as expected.
- Complete the PTI Balancing and submit payment, if necessary.
- Create VZKnowledge Docs (desktop procedures) for new procedures and review existing docs for attestation.
- Process adjustments & refunds for deceased employees
- YE: Guam W-2s
- YE: Puerto Rico W-2s
- Adhoc projects as assigned.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree. Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience. Payroll Tax experience / Multi-state. Quarter End Tax processing experience. Experience reconciling tax liabilities and payments. Amendment & W-2C filing experience. Intermediate in Excel, at minimum. Experience in Customer Service and HRMS/Payroll Processing system applications. Understanding of end-to-end Payroll functional processes as well as how the processes integrate with the overall end-to-end Payroll Tax processes. Strong customer service skills (both verbal and written). Good organizational, time management and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously. Willingness for flexible scheduling to meet processing demands. Strong sense of urgency, proactive approach, and a solid focus on results.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience with 3rd party tax applications, ie: ADP. Experience with HCM systems, ie: PeopleSoft, Workday. CPP or FPC preferred.
