The Facility Operations Coordinator provides essential services to the Facilities Management Department which includes Security, Maintenance, Environmental Services and Food Services.

The Facility Operations Coordinator helps to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our patients/visitors/customers through a detailed understanding of facility operations, anticipation of needs, and appropriate allocation of resources.

The Facility Operations Coordinator also performs other duties and participates in special projects and assignments as needed in order to support the Environment of Care. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A

Experience REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of experience in facilities operations and management
Experience PREFERRED: N/A
Education/training REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Education/training PREFERRED:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or related field from an accredited program
Independent action(s) required:
Provides operational support and organization to the Facility Management Department providing documentation, equipment management, staffing support and training.
Provides project management for assigned work areas.
Manages the training and scheduling of department staff in a 24/7 operation, with multiple disciplines.
Coordinates the Food Services, VCU Telecommunications and other contracted services.
Develops reports for hospital administration used in the management of the Environment of Care.
Maintains data used to discern trends that result in action to address process improvement, needs for equipment replacement, system upgrades, staffing resources and training.
Responsible for the management of hospital communication equipment. Works as a department representative for event planning, both large and small.
Assists with and may represent department with inspections by TJC, CMMS, and Fire Marshal.
Shares on call duties with other members of department.
