EMT-Intermediate - FT

EMT-Intermdiate rate starts at $21.61, with credit for experience. $10,000 sign-on bonus available per applicable guidelines for External Candidates Only.

The EMT-Intermediate administers life support care and transport to patients in pre-hospital settings as authorized and directed by physician. Performs a variety of skills related to acute and non-acute settings in ground and/or air transport. Responds to medical emergencies in a 911 setting and protects life and administers cardiac and trauma support when needed. Administers initial treatment at emergency scene, assesses patient response and makes adjustments as needed. Gathers and analyzes information and uses reason when dealing with emotional topics. Manages difficult customer situations and maintains confidentiality.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience: One year EMT-Intermediate experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Certification in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Intermediate required. National certification as an Intermediate preferred. AHA BLS-HCP and ACLS required. PALS, PHTLS or BTLS and Haz Mat required within one year of hire date.

Other: Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by State and National standards. All of our driving positions dorequire that youprovide a copy of your current driving record and meet driver eligibility requirements.
