The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics is the second-oldest aerospace engineering program in the country. Flight pioneer Orville Wright played a key role in its formation, and Neil Armstrong, the first person on the Moon, was a faculty member. The department maintains strong ties with government research centers and the aerospace industry, both locally and nationally. The Department offers a fully ABET-accredited five-year B.S. degree in aerospace engineering with a mandatory coop program and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in both Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. In addition, the Department has an Accelerated Engineering Degree (ACCEND) program where highly motivated students can get both B.S. and M.S. or B.S. and M.B.A. degrees in five (5) years and a semester.The Department has research focus areas in Controls & Dynamics, Fluids, Combustion & Propulsion, and Solids & Structural Dynamics, supported by nationally recognized laboratory facilities. The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics (AEEM) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati (UC) invites applications for up to two (2) open-rank tenure-track/tenured faculty positions with a 9-month academic appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. All areas of aerospace engineering will be considered. The department is currently looking to expand its offerings in the following two broad areas:
