The George Washington University
Institute for Data, Democracy and Politics (IDDP) seeks exceptional candidates for a full-time, academic research position at the rank of post-doctoral fellow. The mission of
IDDP is to help society understand critical challenges that arise at the intersection of digital technology, media and democracy, in turn informing sound policy solutions.
IDDP is committed to supporting rigorous, evidence-based research that advances democratic values. The position is for a one-year term, with the possibility to extend.
The postdoctoral associate will work closely on topics related to IDDP's mission. The researcher will have deep expertise in behavioral approaches to social science, including but not limited to the design and analysis of experiments. The applicant will be intimately familiar with sophisticated analytic tools and will have a demonstrated record of their use. This position is located at GW's Foggy Bottom campus in Washington, DC, and will report to the Institute's Co-Faculty Director Dr. Ethan Porter.
This postdoctoral associate will participate in the planning of independent research, will analyze and interpret data, will publish results, will represent the university at conferences and meetings, and may develop new theories and methodologies. Extensive professional experience using R, Python or similar tools are a key requirement for the position, and successful candidates should show potential to excel in tasks related to behavioral social science research. This position may also help lead and direct the work of research assistants and other staff. This role performs work under the supervision of experienced researchers.
This position has a desired start date of August 4, 2025. But there are options to be flexible.

Minimum Qualifications |
Applicants must have fulfilled all requirements for the award of a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field by the date of employment. |
Desired Qualifications: |
- Collaborate with affiliated researchers and faculty pursuing more narrowly specified projects in addition to the pursuit of individual project interests.
- Conceptualize, design and analyze behavioral social science research related to IDDP's mission
- Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

$61,008 - $80,000 |
