Job Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth within an assigned geographic area by developing and executing strategic sales plans. This role involves building strong relationships with key stakeholders across healthcare settings, identifying new business opportunities, and launching new products and programs. The sales representative will utilize consultative selling skills and in-depth product knowledge to meet customer needs, while also maintaining accurate records through CRM systems. Additional responsibilities include monitoring market trends, managing expenses within budget, participating in industry events, and collaborating with internal teams to contribute to broader organizational success.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year base, plus an annual commission target of $60,000 - $65,000 per year. This position is also eligible for a company car. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement annual sales plan to meet/exceed territory revenue goals. Establish goals, objectives, strategy and execution for targeted accounts with quarterly reviews with manager.
- Conduct pre and post call planning and maintain/develop customer database utilizing company CRM software as available.
- Increase sales of PN products in assigned territory and develop new business opportunities including launch of new products and programs.
- Utilize PN product knowledge and consultative sales skills to identify and meet customer needs.
- Keep abreast of nutrition support market, competitive information, opportunities and trends and reports to leadership/team.
- Organize and utilize approved sales tools to maximize effective customer presentations.
- Adhere to yearly expense budgets. Timely reporting and use of Concur/company expense reporting software.
- Interact positively and successfully with internal and external customers.
- Expand relationships to include all levels of the organization (ie hospital, homecare) capable of purchasing and utilizing FK PN products. (Director of Pharmacy and staff; Nutrition Support Pharmacists, Dietitians, Nurses; Physicians.)
- Participate in industry related conferences and activities as appropriate. (ie local ASPEN chapter meetings)
- Communicates challenges/issues and positively develops solutions for the sales organization.
- Contributes to the success of the company beyond individual territory or region.
- Adhere to all compliance and regulatory policies and procedures. Complete ongoing LMS training as directed within company timelines maintaining all employment requirements.
- Completes all training requirements, including all department-specific, compliance training, etc.
- Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
- All employees are responsible for ensuring the compliance to company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2+ years of healthcare sales experience required.
- Advanced professional degree in science or business and/or RD, RPH/PharmD, or RN is preferred.
- Solid influencing skills accompanied with outstanding selling and presentation skills.
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and solid interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate with management, peer groups, and customers in an effective, collaborative style.
- Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other database/ERP concepts (i.e., Salesforce.com, SAP). Ability to quickly acclimate to new technology platforms and CRMs.
- Travel requirement of approximately 80% (overnight travel will vary depending on the assigned territory). Ability to travel within designated geography and occasionally outside of own geography.
- Ability to travel frequently by car, public transportation (i.e., air/auto) to meet business needs. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Authorization and ability to drive a Company leased vehicle, regularly.
- Must maintain all requirements for access to customer sites, including active and current compliance with all credentialing requirements (may include COVID-19 and annual influenza vaccinations), in order to perform the essential functions of the role at customer locations.
