JOB SUMMARY (How you will make an Impact)

Genfare is adiverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact.The Data Architect for Genfare will design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks. Set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security. Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses. Create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow. Integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be to ensure Genfare's connected offerings to hosted products.

  • Define and document data architecture as well as capture requirements and prepare estimates.
  • Work closely with the sales team and customers to understand their business processes, capture requirements and document data models to satisfy them.
  • Design and optimize data models for transit reporting and device management by moving existing on-premise data systems to the AWS cloud.
  • Design and develop data pipelines to clean and transform data making it suitable for analytics.
  • Propose and take ownership of technical solutions from the design and architecture perspective.
  • Keep up to date with latest trends and technologies and provide strategic direction and technical expertise to meet data architecture needs.
  • Work with the technical support team to assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of legacy data system software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Requires 5 years of progressive, post-Bachelor's work experience.
  • Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Designing and implementing large scale data warehouses for BI projects; ETL development using tools such as SSIS to design and build data pipelines; Experience working in a cloud native environment such as AWS or Azure; Migrating on premise workloads to the cloud; Data visualization technologies: SSRS and Quicksight; Experience working with relational databases; and Experience with SQL language to develop and optimize complex queries.

As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $147,472 - $175,200 per year and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate's experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan. SPX offers a variety of benefits, including health benefits, 401K retirement with a company match, and flexible time off.
