Job Overview

The Reliability Engineer plays a key role in the design and development of new and improved Komatsu Mining products through design for reliability activities. This role also involves resolving product issues by conducting reliability analyses and leading root cause analysis.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in performing design for reliability (DFR) activities including: FMEA's, Design Reviews, and Reliability Block Diagram analysis on product development initiatives.
  • Assists with product issue resolution initiatives and performing root cause analysis (RCA) using fault tree analysis (FTA) tools on machine and part failures.
  • Assists with reliability analyses on KMC machine and component field failure data.
  • Assists with establishing and verifying reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) requirements for product development initiatives.
  • Assists in developing test plans for the field verification and validation (V&V) testing of KMC products.
  • Assists in the installation of data acquisition (DAQ) systems and associated sensors on KMC products undergoing field V&V testing.
  • Assists in gathering and processing field V&V test data.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • BS in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical engineering).
  • 0 - 5years experience in an engineering or equipment maintenance environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word software tools.
  • The position may involve domestic an international travel and may include working outdoors in mining environments(up to 15%)
  • Must have a valid passport or have no restrictions in obtaining one
