Job Purpose

The Manager, Integrated Planning and Solutions is a vital role, and the successful candidate will have a long lasting and significant material impact on National Grid business in New York. The purpose of this role is to lead a team to develop engineering solutions to novel and unique problems associated with meeting future electrification, decarbonization needs, cost efficiencies, and digital transformation and NY State policy goals. This work will influence future business plans and rate cases, setting the ambitions and developing the tactical solutions to ensuring achievement of our strategic goals.

The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of and passion for the clean energy sector and establish themselves as the thought leader for the Company on novel operational and planning solutions.They will be a hands-on and results-driven leader who will bring credible expertise, exceptional relationship building skills, and fresh energy and passion to the role. They willpossess strong leadership skills to ensure the success of this interdisciplinary team of critical thinkers.

Key Accountabilities
  • The Integrated Planning and Solutions manager will lead a team of highly skilled engineering and business minded professionals to make support making informed strategic and tactical business decisions, ensuring the work product is delivered on time and of a high level of quality.
  • The Integrated Planning and SolutionsManager will develop a workforce capable of making recommendations to support future electrification, decarbonization needs, cost efficiencies, and digital transformation and NY State policy goals.
  • Lead virtual teams in pursuit of transmission and distribution opportunities, engaging external consultants as needed, to develop robust and compelling integrated planning solutions.
  • Work with process owners and peer Managers to identify and implement business process improvement and best practices.
  • Focus on continuous improvement techniques to challenge existing processes and continuously seek ways to do things better to drive greater efficiencies for the business.
  • Deliverseveral critical regulatory reports requiring input for many SMEs, requiring careful coordination
  • Provide support to other areas of National Grid such as Electric Strategy, Electric Operations, Regional Control Center, Electric Planning.
  • Provide expertise and thought leadership within NY Electricon how to incorporate new or evolutionary solutions and technologies,specifically in areas such as electric system planning, DER integration, networkaccess, grid modernization
  • Translate how strategic priorities and vision will impact teams, rate cases, and business planning within the NY Electric. Provide input and feedback to US, Corporate, and Regulatory strategy, etc.
  • Identify and coordinate support resources to deliver strategicworkstreams where EAM&E is the accountable party and track performance ofworkstream delivery. Serving as technical and business lead on specific projects or initiatives.

  • Is receptive to change and is willing to change ideas or opinions based on new information or contrary evidence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering discipline and 6+ years of professional power systems electrical engineering experience. Preferred major inElectricalEngineering from an ABET accredited engineering school. .
  • Master's in electrical engineering or business management preferred.
  • Understanding of utility regulation, including experience engaging state regulators and external stakeholder and developing regulatory strategy.
  • Experience workingin a Project Management Team Environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience Managing others or a team.
More Information

Salary: $156,000 - $183,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
