Job Summary

The Customer Logistics Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely system data to support operational efficiency and billing accuracy. This position focuses on managing railcar movements, customer order tracking, and system data updates that facilitate smooth internal processes. This role collaborates closely with the Commercial and Operations teams and ensures alignment across functions to execute business objectives at a high level.

Job Duties
  • Responding promptly and courteously to customer inquiries and complaints regarding railcar fleet services
  • Ensuring that orders are processed accurately while adhering to established procedures and timelines
  • Coordinating movement of cars between storage, shop, and customer locations; including identifying best route, waybilling with railroads, and communicating with all necessary parties to ensure proper movement
  • Prioritize accurate and timely system data updates that support the businesses' billing, invoicing and payment processes
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers by keeping them informed of service changes, updates, and developments
  • Maintaining accurate records of car movements and transactions for reporting purposes
  • Assisting with development and implementation of new process improvements to enhance logistics operations
  • Regularly reviewing and monitoring key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and providing data to support strategic adjustments
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field
  • Experience in customer service positions, preferably in the railcar industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Comfortable working on a computer and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, OneNote, and Teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • Understanding of logistics and transportation industry concepts and practices
